Some may be wondering what a sub brand is doing offering specialty confections, however, the footlong-sized goodies make sense due to the fact that Subway actually sells more freshly-baked cookies than any other restaurant company in the U.S., according to a press release. “Bringing together two of Subway’s most iconic menu items — footlong subs and Subway cookies – was the only way we could top our celebration of National Cookie Day last year when we opened the first Cookieway,” Paul Fabre, Senior VP, Culinary and Innovation at Subway, stated in the official announcement. “We wanted to give Subway fans even more cookie to love, with flavors and ingredients that are just as craveable as the sandwiches they’re inspired by.” The 12-inch delectables will debut in four limited-edition variations, available exclusively at Miami’s Cookieway—the chain’s pop-up restaurant that only serves its fan-favorite cookies—for one day only, Dec. 4 (National Cookie Day) from 1-5 PM. Subway has also announced it will be offering its six and twelve-pack Cookie Bundles at its eatery locations across the country. Giving in to your sweet tooth has never been more enticing, as the footlong cookies support a good cause.
