What is Christmas in My Heart about?
Beth (Heather Hemmens), a concert violinist, returns to her hometown after her mother’s recent passing. She crosses paths with Katie (Maria Nash), a promising young violinist at the elementary school where her mother was the head of the music department. Katie’s dad, Sean (Luke Macfarlane) is a country music star who hasn’t written any new music since his wife’s passing. Ruthie (Sheryl Lee Ralph), his mother-in-law, wants him to move on with his life, but Sean is still coming to terms with his loss. Eager to sharpen her skills for the town’s upcoming recital dedicated to Beth’s mother, Katie finds a creative way to get Sean to hire Beth as her tutor. As their lessons progress, Beth and Katie connect over their love of classical music and Katie’s confidence grows. Although Beth and Sean are sometimes at odds, they learn that the power of music and friendship can have significant healing properties, especially at Christmastime.

Heather Hemmens (Beth)
Hemmens can be seen as Maria DeLuca on The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico and was previously in Hallmark Channel’s Love, Take Two. She has had guest starring roles on Grey’s Anatomy, Yellowstone, and The Vampire Diaries. Additionally, she was one of the leads in OWN’s If Loving You Was Wrong.
Luke Macfarlane (Sean)
Macfarlane is a staple at Hallmark Channel. Most recently he starred in the network’s Taking a Shot at Love and Chateau Christmas. The Julliard trained Macfarlane has a twin sister, Ruth, and has starred in SYFY’s Killjoys and ABC’s Brothers and Sisters.
Sheryl Lee Ralph (Ruthie)
Ralph got her start in theatre and was nominated for a Tony for her role as Deena Jones in Dreamgirls. She is married to Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes. She has had on recurring roles on Motherland: Fort Salem, Claws, and MacGyver in recent years.
Maria Nash (Katie)
Nash voices the character of Olive on Elinor Wonders Why and had a guest-starring role opposite her Christmas in My Heart on-screen dad on Killjoys. The young actress already has over a dozen credits to her name.
